The deteriorating security situation in Mexico made the successive goverments introduce reforms that created new police forces. President Enrique Peña Nieto established the National Gendarmerie (Gendarmería Nacional) in 2014 as a military-organised police force to fight organised crime.

The bluish urban pixelated pattern looks different in the last photo, showing the enviromental protection force of the Mexican Gendarmerie.

Just five years after its creation, president Andrés Manuel López Obrador decided in 2019 to create the National Guard (Guardia Nacional) as an amalgamation of the National Gendarmerie and different branches of the Mexican military police. This new police force shows a new urban pixelated pattern.
